I Love The Piano!

Image
When I was young, I can remember loving to hear my mom play the piano.  She would sing with it as well.  It was one of my favorite memory.  I always wanted to learn to play but lacked the talent to do so. I admire my mom and others around me for their skill.  Simply put, I love the piano. Some of my favorite songs are piano based.  I have picked out a few of my favorites.

On Tape

Image
I remember one Christmas getting a tape recorder.  They were big items when I was growing up along with stereo systems,  It was 1980.     I loved taping music off of the radio or turntable and then it was placing the recorder close enough to the speaker not to get it distorted or too far away that you couldn't hear it without turning the volume way up.   It was really fun, it wasn't until 1984 that I got a radio with a tape recorder built in that I was truly thankful for technology.   That was a treat, now a days we have phones and computers that do all that, you don't even need a disk.  I can recall going through tape brands looking for the best clarity then mastered the art of fixing them when they got twisted.    Those day are pretty much gone but I think of them as I dig out those old cassette tapes.  Some of those songs still play through my mind. Enjoy some of those memories.

"Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:5-9    I hope and pray that this brings comfort to those who read this.   I love this song because there is so much written about the love of Christ Jesus.  Every time I sing along with it, it brings tears to my eyes because it describes how much I love Him!

For Valentine's Day

Image
In less than a month, hundreds of floral shops nationwide will be swamped with many people buying flowers, roses mainly, for Valentine's Day One of the biggest floral business days ever.  I have worked many valentine's days putting bouquets together.  Sometimes I would receive them, but not anymore since my husband's passing.  I admit I miss that very much.  As this day approaches, many of us will be running out at the last minute to purchase these lovely mementos of love.  I am a music person and like to share some of the songs I like best for this day. SO HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Make it filled with love!

Could I Ever Fall In Love Again?

Image
Being widowed is sometimes difficult when dealing with matters of the heart.   When my husband died in 2006 and the New Year fast approaching, it was just accepting the loss that was the first hurdle.   I went through Grief Counselling in March through May of 2007 but at that time I had placed a greater burden on myself by stopping my anti-depressant that I had taken since 1998 (Zoloft).  I was getting hammered from without and within.  I had everyone in my family wanting me off of them because they were worried about how my grief would go along with the side effects.         When I started to take a different anti-depressant, after my husband's death, at first there were several and many times I was out of it.  My sisters tell me things now that I did that I don't remember doing. Finally I got straightened out and ended up on Paxil but now I was on two high-blood pressure medicines but I was feeling better.          I heard it said that depression runs in the family a
