The Heart's Music Can Heal

  Here we go into 2017 and my boy will be graduating from High school, hard to believe.  Among that momentous event to come will be the stories my father has shared along the way.    Sometimes dad tells the same story for whatever reason but every once in a while he shares a story that was once long forgotten.   One story he told had to do with the time he was on The Ohio State Highway Patrol, particularly on route four, the tiresome trail that goes north and south.  I'm thinking about this story because with the new years , many patrol has to deal with drinking and driving, accidents and traffic deaths.    This is on a lighter side as dad told about his partner that night had trouble driving in the snow, more or less with the turn around in the medium.  Everytime he made a u turn , he and dad ended up in the ditch and in the same place.   This was sound were a farm was, so the farmer came out with his tractor and pulled them out.   After awhile the farmer joked with them and to

   Catching up on all the bills and getting Christmas gifts got into a little snag.  Time Warner decided to disconnect our WiFi on Christmas Eve.  So I haven't been able to write .  Infact I am here at the library.     I didn't forget about you Stephen or everyone in your family, love you very much and wishing you  and yours a Very Blessed and Happy New Year .    Pray you had a wonderful Christmas.  Mine was nice.  The kids and I spent Christmas Eve at my sisters and Christmas day with my folks.    My sister always has a time with her "Reindeer Bag" filled with treats and gag gifts or as she calls them "Bonus Gifts"  anyway my nephew Scott pulled all three gag gifts but with that he was able to pull three more.   Carianne picked out the one gag gift for Scott to grab  "Unicorn Meat"  it was promoted like a can of spam with a little stuffed toy inside.  Jon thought of the other gag gift, Scott was lucky enough to access, it was Vegan Jerky,.  Sc

This lady put together a wonderful tribute to Sandi Patty.   Early in her career, someone misspelled her last name and she kept it for years as "Patti".   Her brothers and her sang with her parents The Patty Family "     Sandi went to Anderson College in Indiana but was born in Oklahoma.    I started to listen to Christian music in 1982 on WRFD Worthington, Ohio,  introduced to her music, out of all of them, she brought me to a closer walk with Christ, able to bring tears to my eyes with the love and faith in her amazing voice.   "The Voice"is exactly what they died her in Christian music.      I admit , with everything going on in my life, losing my husband and fighting Depression and Anxiety, unfortunately "On the Wings and Le Voyage" we're the last of her tracks I bought.    I occasionally pull out my albums and tapes of hers and listen to them.  God Continue to bless this extraordinary talented lady.  He has truly blessed all of us with

    The kids went to breakfast with my folks this morning at Bob Evans, they know mom and dad there pretty well since they go there so much.   Jon and Carianne had a good time.    Dad he gets up with the Chickens..so they went early , the dogs , cats and I slept in.      It's odd weather today, freezing rain, warmer temperatures and some thunderstorms, nothing major , just typical strange Ohio weather.   My poor car was covered with ice this morning..til    Supposed to be foggy in the morning with sleet. The girls and I were going to see the Nutcracker at The Ohio Theater because Carianne is supposed to sing in the Chorus, this is through the school. She gets a free ticket plus two free ones.  If the weather gets too nasty, more than likely,  we won't go, I love The Nutcracker but not well enough to get into an accident. We'll see. Have to let you know.   Pray you are doing well Schizz and all the family are ok, it can be a stressful time of year .    Think about all

    Back on my diet after destroying it on my Birthday. Hi Stephen , hope you had a good weekend and your week is going good.     Overdid the cake a bit, now I need to hunker back down on my diet.   Didn't do much for my real fiftieth but decorate outside for Christmas, still need to put the lights out.   Drink of choice sparking water, plain water and tea.     Somber thinking back on my life and some of my fondest memories.  My favorite year in school was my eighth grade.    I was in that transition stage of being a child, teenager to young adult.   I had the best teachers and one that brought the charm of New England to his teaching English.    Most of all, it was just being a kid.  Boy it has been something.   Today Carianne asked me if it felt different being fifty, ...no not really, guess I haven't really given it much thought.  I see it in my face and feel it in my body though.        Social Security stated to me although I have some difficulty working, some jobs I

Sorry, it's been two days that I have written.  I got my woodburner out and did a picture of Sitting Bull, I did some detail with my pencils.  I'm pleased with the contrast, but I wish it resembled him better.   That is what I've been doing.   I have lost four more pounds following the teachings of my nutrition class.     Glad about that.  The kids got me a model of "Starsky and Hutch"  1976 Ford Torino, it's awesome..     Jon talks about how cool the Pontiac Firebirds are, like what you used to drive.     I mentioned one time how missed you are here and the care you provided.  Vickie and I we're talking about mom's leg and how swollen it gets.  She was so frustrated with how poorly my moms doctor's staff  is and how they didn't have the time to call her back.  Vickie just said, " Doctor Schissel wouldn't have done that, he took better care of her."      When a person is right, they are right, won't argue that point.    

   I know its the night before, but I just wanted to post this before time gets away from me .   The kids and I are going over my folks tomorrow...just in case.    Of course you know how I like to write you, so no problem there.     Wanted to wish your family a lovely Thanksgiving too.     Think about you all.  You are always my main concern.   You have a wonderful day Stephen Anthony, I love you so much.  You stay safe!    I knew something was up this past Saturday, my sisters and I decided that we should have the Thanksgiving get together the Nineteenth.        Boy I was so surprised and tickled when I walked in the door.      They had "More Than A Feeling" playing with a "Gone With The Wind " theme.   You see , over the years I collect ed The dolls from Franklin Mint and bought the movie.     I remember coming home from work (Big Bear) and had the following day off, so I made up some popcorn and stayed up watching it while everyone was asleep.   Dad never forgot that.    Scott , my nephew you know, he made a loop of old photographs of me, I'll have to show them to ya Schizz.  They found the picture of us kids in the old Falcon Station wagon.   I remember you kids rode in a Ford Falcon too.       Jennie , Vickie and the kids worked hard on the party.  I really appreciated all of it.    Hello Stephen Anthony,          Love you're name! Hope and pray you are doing good and are keeping well, around this part of Ohio, this flu is making it's rounds, you of course know that story.  I haven't heard about New England and Massachusetts and how you all are getting along.   I say you all a lot I know, when I lived in Willard, oh, one of our neighbors was from Georgia, and she would talk to me using that phrase.  I must have picked it up from her. her and her husband and two boys were very nice people.  I remember them coming to Jeff's funeral.  I was so out of it, I couldn't remember her name when she came up to me.  Cynthia Showman was her name.   Not really looking forward to that Anniversary, just a sad and lonely reminder.  I am so Thankful and so blessed that God brought me to you Stephen, I know without a doubt I wouldn't have survived that whole ordeal without you.  Thanksgiving means a great deal more today because of you, thank you darlin

  I know It's an unusual title for a blog but how true it is.   Been sick since my last post on here, seems like part of my sickness have been in my eyes, especially my right eye which has been swollen weepy and red.  It looks like I have been hit in eye.     Miserable is an understatement.  Blues on top of it.     Sure do hope and pray all of your family Schizz are doing well and you have been taking care of yourself sweet man!   Always worry about you.  Love ya so much!   This is the only part of the fall I hate, getting a nasty cold...oh phooey.      Chills, runny nose, stuffed sinuses and cough.  Nice gift from my son, either that my nephew.      Sure hope and pray you and your family are all well Schizz.  This stuff is miserable.     Wondering if you had a good week, Love you so very much Stephen Anthony Schiss, already called you Schizz.    With the election behind us, many prayers are said that President Elect Trump with be guided by God's almighty hand.   Please let there be peace within the hearts of Americans, let us heal finally from all the negativity.       I want to thank you Stephen for keeping my family in your prayers.  Still waiting to hear the results of moms ultrasound on her leg.  I am thankful that her doctor got her in Monday.  I c an feel your prayers Schizz lift us up.     It reminds me of the story of  General George Patton's famous weather prayer.     The prayer was written by Third Army Chaplain Msgr. Col James H. O'Neil .   Patton Stated " We must do something about these rains if we are to win the war.  We've got to get not only the chaplains but every man in the Third Army to pray.  We must ask God to stop these rains.  These rains are the margin that holds victory or defeat."      The prayer was composed by O'Neil. Even Patton wrote two other prayers.    

I have a good amount of worries the next  few days.   Went over to mom and dad's today, mom has swelling around her foot, ankle and her calf, which started two weeks ago as pain in those areas, soaking and heat hasn't worked.  She has us worried.  She has been out of medicine and called several times to check where it is  with no results.   My sister is having test done Thursday for a possible Pinched nerve and her husband is going into the doctor's office Tuesday because his white cell count is low.   Could I ask for prayers Schizz.  I thank you so much.  Hope and pray you and your family are well, I think about you all the time.   Wanted to write you tonight  hopefully to bring you some encouragement, if you need it or not Stephen.  I think it's a nice gesture either way!  Pray everyone is doing fine and you are taking care of yourself.  Today has been a odd day. Hi Stephen,     Hope you are having a good day.    Thinking of you this evening.   I decided to take a fall walk at Highbanks.  It was nice to go at my own pace, it was very relaxing.  I needed to get out to enjoy the day.  I lost our insurance because we make a little too much to qualify.  It will be tough because all together the kids and I just make enough to get by.  It's discouraging.  We are doing all the right things and still, it isn't enough.    I took some pictures of the landscape around Highbanks and forbid, I took another selfie, I don't mind this one, I got my sunglasses on.      I remember even now after all these years working with the public in retail, to always smile.     At times it is just all I muster. The best thing is that it is contagious.  It just makes a difference in a day to someone that you don't even know.       I'm still smiling, although I don't know why , just comes out.     In recent days the temperature has been really nice, the leaves are turning color and today as I was watching the kids trick or treat, I had to smile.  Just for a few hours I felt a sensation of past innocence, perhaps reliving being a kid again.        Here we are just minutes to November with everything being crazy in the world today, still I'm smiling.        Well, I hope you are smiling too Stephen and everything is ok with you and your family, I think of you often, always do,      How much I want you to hold my hand and tell me everything will be fine, miss you so much!      December will be a testing period again from where I was ten yea

Hello Stephen  Hopefully everyone and everything are on the up and up  .  Thinking about all of you.  I wonder if the trees are full of color in New England.  The colors here in Ohio is kinda dull.   Sunday, the kids and I went over to mom and dad's, took a walk in the field, all the way to the back.  Brought back so many memories. I wanted to give you an ideal how I have been doing on my diet through Ohio health.  My sister tells me that I take good pictures. Me , I hate my pictures and this is why.  Seems like everyone else takes a good one to me, so I took my picture without any makeup.   If I am scary Stephen, I'M Sorry. You know there are so many songs out there that can sum up how we as listeners feel inside, especially if feeling happy or sad.    Today I had to go in for a evaluation from a Psychologist for Social Security Benefits.  I am sure it will help with my weight loss too.     It's been a long week of ups and downs as my fiftieth Birthday comes around.  That's no big deal , but what follows is just a reminder of the ten years since Jeff's death.     Within these past ten years many special people have blessed the road I have traveled but none so like you Stephen A Schizz.    Memories are all I have anymore of the happiness I had when you were here and when you were back home in Amesbury , MA with the writings you shared.     Been so long since I heard from you, I keep believing that somehow you read these blogs and you still care.      I miss you, everything about you.  How honored I felt and still feel when you looked my way.      I truly love and trust you wholeheartedly

    Hello Stephen,              Thinking about you right now , how I miss you, your kindness and the security of your presence.         It's tough being a single woman, it helps though having two teenage, especially a son.  That does keep the cruds away.     I know FaceBook is another matter, I kinda snarled at those guys who try to send friend requests.  I noticed one jerk who was collecting widows on facebook.  Makes me so angry.  I know what these women are going through.  I learned from years past , to ignore these scammers.  I thought I'd at least warn others about it these people.       Miss being around you Schizz.  It's never the same.  I do hope and pray all is fine up there.      Love you so much, love and prayers to everyone!    Hello Stephen, hope you get a good night's sleep. Just got done doing my evening shores even though it's early morning.    This always consist of laundry, dishes and straightening the house.    Now that it's cooler, I am working on my steps outside, hopefully I will get to paint it before it gets too cold.  I know it's cooler again, the temperature change get me a nice earache.     Jon came home from school feeling bummy with chills.  So the season is churning along its merry little path of misery.      Hope and pray you had a delightful Birthday, was thinking about you all day and wishing your day was special.      I know you need your rest , so I will pray that your day will be good.  Always want you to be safe and well.  You are very dear sweetheart.   Love you so very much Schizz, love and prayers to all!   Happy Birthday Sir Schizz,  thought I would add a little Swiss Schiss to the title today.    Don't Know what your plans are today but I sure wish you the best of everything the day has to offer.    All the love and happiness that comes your way.    Since I can't have cake, make sure you have extra.  You do better with it than I could.     Stay young at heart and you will always be young, again you are better at that than I am too, that is the best thing to do!     I am going to share a memory that I have of you, it was about six years ago this month actually when I discovered just how much you meant to me, though it took so long to register in my mind.
