In The Blood As Well

My love for music I think began even before I was born.  A few of my ancestors had a deep affection for music.  My grandmother I was told sang on the radio as her younger brother and sister played guitar.    My dad played guitar in a band they called "The Silver Valley Rangers" tragically some of the band members were killed in a horrific car accident on the old state route 23 in Delaware,Ohio, now called Havens Road named after my great uncle who lived in a house there at the time of the head-on collision.
In my opinion, my aunts and my mother all have beautiful voices, as a little girl I remember placing on an album of hymns by "Tennessee Ernie Ford" and she would sing along with it.  I really enjoyed it when she did that.   I love to sing and so I joined Choir in high school and in Church.  I always sing in my car and I am sure I get funny looks from other drivers.  I have seen drivers like myself and I have to laugh at the sight of  a person at a red light, mouth moving, fingers snapping, head bopping along and singing at the top of their lungs.  Funnier still is when its raining or cold outside and the windows are rolled up, the sight is there but no sound.  I haven't noticed if my kids are mortified by my "Singing In The Car" truthfully, I really don't mind.  My daughter sings the same way.
Its especially helpful to sing in the car on long trips because it makes the time of travel go faster. I suppose as well it entertains other drivers on the roads.  In towns I can see people walk down the sidewalk and look over at me.
So have a little fun and put some music in your soul.
